Ukrainian woman arrested in Poland over human organ trafficking, sought by Interpol

Polish border guards arrested a Ukrainian woman who was sentenced in Kazakhstan to 12 years in prison for participating in an international criminal group trafficking human organs.

The 35-year-old woman, Ksenia P., was detained on March 7, 2025, at the railway crossing between Poland and Ukraine.
Her name had appeared in international databases under an Interpol Red Notice. She had been wanted since November 2020 for her involvement in a criminal network operating across multiple countries, including Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Thailand.
Human organ trafficking network
Ksenia P. was convicted for illegally obtaining and selling 56 kidneys between 2017 and 2019, turning the illicit activity into a steady source of income, Reuters reports.
She was arrested and interrogated by Polish authorities but denied the charges. A Polish court has ordered her temporary detention while awaiting extradition to Kazakhstan.
