For the first time, the elite Polish forces have also been certified to command a significant defense operation.
During a visit to Kraków, where the training for the NATO Response Force in 2024 has come to an end, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak said: „The soldiers of the Special Forces in the Polish armed forces are a showcase [of the Polish Army]. It’s about very strict selection, it’s about skills, training. We are proud of your service.”
Błaszczak emphasized their role in both national and NATO security, saying: „This is a service that is extremely necessary to ensure the security of our homeland, but also to ensure the security of the entire North Atlantic Alliance.” He added: „This is our joint achievement, a NATO achievement.”
The NATO Response Force is composed of elite units from alliance countries, prepared to respond rapidly to threats.
