Polish retail sales 6.1% up y/y in February: stats office
Retail sales in Poland went up by 6.1 percent in February at constant prices compared with the same month a year earlier, the country’s statistics office reported on Thursday.

Sales of motor vehicles shot up by 26.6 percent last month in year-on-year terms, and those of fuels rose by 13.4 percent, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.
Meanwhile, sales of furniture, household appliances and consumer electronics went down by 5.2 percent, while those of clothing and shoes dropped 21.5 percent, according to Statistics Poland.
In terms of current prices, retail sales last month were 6.7 percent higher than in February 2023, Statistics Poland said.
In month-on-month terms, retail sales in February were 0.9 percent lower than in January, the statistics office also reported.
