Polish jobless rate lowest in EU, at 2.6% in February: Eurostat
Unemployment in Poland stood at 2.6 percent in February, marking the lowest rate in the 27-nation European Union, the bloc’s statistics agency reported on Tuesday.

Poland topped the list, followed by the Czech Republic and Malta tied for second place, each with 2.7 percent, according to the Eurostat agency.
Meanwhile, Spain had the highest seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in the EU, at 10.4 percent, and Swedish unemployment was the second-highest at 9 percent, according to the latest available data.
Eurostat reported that the EU average for February was 5.7 percent, down from 5.8 percent in January and from 6.1 percent in February 2024.
Poland’s statistics office (GUS), which uses a different methodology, reported last month that the Polish jobless rate held steady at 5.4 percent in February, unchanged from January.
