The first plane is anticipated to land at the Central Communication Port (CPK) airport in Baranów, located over 40 kilometers from Warsaw, in the fall of 2032, announced Maciej Lasek, the government’s plenipotentiary for CPK, on Radio ZET.

The new airport will replace Chopin Airport as the main domestic hub, while Chopin Airport itself will be modernized to accommodate growing passenger traffic, though without expanding its restricted-use zone.
„If we don’t modernize this airport, we would lose more than 30 million passengers by the time the new airport opens,” Lasek emphasized.
CPK is a government project that involves building a new airport along with supporting infrastructure, including a high-speed rail network, expressways, and highways.
The new airport will initially serve 34 million passengers annually, with the potential for flexible expansion in the future.
The estimated cost of the investment by 2032 is 131.7 billion PLN (30.86 billion EUR).
