She said this was a reckless and reprehensible attack on the peace process.

Gardaí must have adequate resources to keep communities and citizens safe
Speaking in the Dáil this week, after a Garda was attacked in Dublin, Mary Lou McDonald said Gardaí must be able to carry out their duties safely.
It is now very clear that we do not have the Garda resources that’s required right across the state to keep communities and citizens safe.
The Minister for Justice must present himself with an active plan to address this situation.

Decision to exclude 24,000 survivors of mother and baby homes from redress is heartless and disgraceful
Speaking in the Dáil this week Mary Lou McDonald said the decision by Government to exclude 24,000 survivors of mother and baby homes from access to the redress scheme is simply heartless and disgraceful.
She said this cruel rule must be dropped.

Government must introduce temporary mortgage interest relief to support struggling mortgage holders
Speaking on RTÉ’s Primetime this week, in a debate with Minister Paschal Donohue, Pearse Doherty said the government must introduce timely, targeted and temporary mortgage interest relief to support borrowers struggling with rising interest rates.

Government failed to support workers and families
Responding to the cost of living package announced by the government this week Matt Carthy said the government has failed to seriously support workers and families.
He said those struggling with rising mortgage interest costs have been ignored and those with no option but to use their car to get to work or school have been penalised.
